Rainbow Falls is just one of many falls along the Horse Pasture River as the waters cascade out of the North Carolina mountains into Lake Jocassee below. The water in this picture is gaining momentum just prior to plunging 150 feet over the edge of Rainbow Falls. Scenic Horse Pasture River is accessible by footpath from Gorges State Park off of Highway 281 in Transylvania County, NC.
