The Ponte Vecchio is a historic old covered bridge across the Arno River in Florence, Italy. It once provided the Medici with a covered route from the Pitti palace to the Uffizi. This famous bridge is blocked off for pedistrian traffic only and is lined with jewelry shops. This view shows the bridge as it appeared in the 1960's.
